The mission of the International Film and Television Research Centre of AAFT (Asian Academy of Film and Television) is to foster research, analysis, and critical discourse in the field of film and television. We aim to generate knowledge, insights, and academic contributions that deepen the understanding and appreciation of the art, history, and cultural impact of films and television shows from around the world.

Our vision is to be a leading international research center dedicated to advancing the study and analysis of film and television. Aims and Objectives

• Encourage scholarly research: We aim to promote and facilitate academic research on various aspects of film and television, including film theory, aesthetics, cultural studies, industry analysis, audience reception, and historical and contextual studies.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration: We seek to foster interdisciplinary collaborations among researchers, scholars, and professionals from diverse fields such as film studies, media studies, cultural studies, sociology, psychology, and more, to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the film and television medium.
• Generate new knowledge and insights: We strive to produce original and impactful research that contributes to the existing body of knowledge in the field of film and television. We encourage innovative research methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and critical approaches that shed new light on the medium.
• Preserve and promote film heritage: We aim to preserve and promote the rich heritage of cinema and television by conducting research on film preservation, restoration, archiving, and curating, as well as creating awareness about the cultural significance and historical value of films and television shows.
