Celebrating 70 Years of Korean History in India: Golf Tournament Honors Korean Community and Corporate Success
New Delhi, India – April 6, 2024 – In a jubilant celebration of cultural exchange and corporate achievement, the “70 Years of Korean History in India Golf Tournament” was organized, marking the enduring presence and remarkable success of the Korean community and corporations in India over the past seven decades. The event, graced by esteemed dignitaries and participants from both nations, served as a testament to the strong bilateral ties between India and Korea.
Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, and Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chair for the Indo South Korea Film and Cultural Forum, adorned the event as chief guests, presenting awards to the winners of the golf games across various categories. Both spoke about India Korea relations and people to people relations between the two countries.
The tournament attracted a significant turnout from the Korean and Indian communities, as well as representatives from multinational corporations (MNCs), banks, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and government officials from both central and state levels. Presidents of regional Korean community associations from Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Andhra Pradesh (AP) graced the occasion, showcasing the widespread engagement and enthusiasm surrounding the event.
Sanjeev K Ahuja, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Asian Community News (ACN) Network, served as the main organizer, orchestrating a seamless event that brought together diverse communities and stakeholders.
Among the distinguished guests were Sanghyun Cho, President of Korean Community Association, Chennai; Namjung Cho, President of Korean Community Association, Mumbai; Hyungyung Jeong, President of Korean Community Association, Bangalore; and Youngho Jeong, President of Korean Community Association, Andhra Pradesh (AP). GI Lee, Chief Representative, South West Asia, Peaceful Unification Council, and SK Park, President, Korea SMEs Association (KOSMA), also graced the occasion with their presence.
Sr. Jagdip Singh, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Chandigarh, and Chairman, SIGMA Corporation Group, and Arun Sharma, President, Media Federation of India, added to the grandeur of the event, attending the prize distribution ceremony and further strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
